for the first time in like more than a year, I've had the chance to spend some serious time out "doing my photography". For those of you who don't know, I'm now up in Washington DC, where apparently there are like zillions of photo opportunities everywhere you look.

For those of you who don't know, my photography philosophy is fairly simple:

- I usually work in black and white (why? because by it's very nature it's abstract.. it shows you a world that doesn't really exist--refer below)

- I like my work to have Major, major drama. If I could actually get you to literally "gasp" when you see some of my work, that would be AMAZING for me. I'm sure I'm not that good though

- most of all, I usually am trying to show you something that you've never seen before. Or show you something you *have* seen before, but in a *way* that you haven't seen before.

- Bonus points if I somehow manage to take a picture of something that isn't even real to begin with.

- To give you a few examples of what I'm talking about, in my little "world" of photography, my sky is completely black, not white as in most pictures. My trees are sometimes white, not black as most trees are. my buildings bend backwards in strange angles. water is solid. sometimes unusual angles are chosen for the composition. sometimes unusual toning. whatever... as long as it's something that's different/unique/new/unusual, then that works for me!

- I sometimes just throw in a "pretty picture" in the gallery somewhere, but I usually let you know when it's just a pretty picture and isn't to be taken seriously
